This flavorful turkey burger was  created by  Kia’s Fit Fare Mini Chef for the White House Healthy Lunchtime Challenge.  Turkey Burgers are a weekly favorite in our home, so mixing it up with salsas and different toppings changes up our normal routine.

Ingredients
Turkey Burger
  • 1 lb - 93% Fat Lean Ground Turkey
  • 2 tbs Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 1 Scallions Chopped
  • 1 tbs Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tsp Dried Basil
  • 1 tsp Minced Garlic (2 cloves)
  • ¼ tsp Sea Salt
  • ¼ tsp Pepper
Mango Salsa
  • ½ cup Jar Salsa (Fresh if desired)
  • 1 Mango (Chopped)
  • 1 Avocado (Chopped)
4 – 100% Whole wheat buns
  • Romaine Lettuce or Red Leaf Lettuce
Instruction
  1. Prepare salsa ingredients and combine in bowl, set aside (You can pulse in processor for a less chunky salsa if you prefer).
  2. Combine all Turkey Burger ingredients. Form 4 patties, place in refrigerator/freezer to chill for (10) minutes (this will keep the patties together).
  3. Fully cook in skillet until done.
  4. Plate burger by layering bun with Red leaf Lettuce, Turkey Patty, and salsa. Serve with a side of Kale Chips.
  5. Enjoy!
Notes
Remember, you can always adjust recipe to smaller or larger portions to meet your needs and goals.
