Orange Pepper Chicken

Looking for a little citrus spice to kick up your chicken. I have the recipe for you! Orange, Cumin & Chile powder creates the perfect blend to take your boring chicken to another level! This recipe is easy to make, delicious and perfect to serve over rice or your grain of choice. Enjoy!!

  • 1 Red Bell Pepper
  • 2 medium Oranges (Will juice & zest)
  • 6-5oz (30oz total) Chicken Breast
  • 2 tsp Chile Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • ½ tsp Sea Salt
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 4 tbs 100% Pure Maple Syrup
What You Need
  • Foil
  • Measuring Spoons
  • 2 Small Bowl
  • Large Skillet
  • Hand Juicer
  • Platter or Plate
  • Scale
  • Whisk or Large Spoon
  1. Set oven to broil. Wash Bell Pepper, slice in half, remove seeds, place on foil and broil for 15-20 mins. Turn every five mins.
  2. Clean Oranges, slice in half and juice. Should produce about ⅔ cup of juice, set aside.
  3. Remove Bell Pepper from oven, seal foil and set aside.
  4. Combine Chile Powder, Cumin and Sea Salt in bowl, set aside.
  5. Clean and prepare chicken, remove any extra moisture with napkins. Season chicken with Chile Powder mixture.
  6. Heat skillet on medium-high, add oil, cook 4-5 mins on each side.
  7. While Chicken is cooking, remove Bell pepper from foil, remove the skin and cut into small pieces. Set aside.
  8. Make sure center is cooked, remove Chicken from skillet and place on platter.
  9. Continue to heat skillet on medium-high; add Orange Juice and Maple Syrup. Cook for 2 minutes stirring with whisk, sauce will thicken. Stir in chopped Bell Peppers. Place chicken back in skillet with top side down for 1 min, flip chicken and spoon sauce over top of chicken.
  10. Remove from heat and plate as you desire.
  11. Enjoy!!
Remember, you can always adjust recipe to smaller or larger portions to meet your needs and goals.
