Turkey Mixture
  • 160g Onions
  • 105g Mushrooms
  • 1 Scallion
  • 10 Slices 100% Whole Wheat Bread (Ex: Sarah Lee 45 Calories and Delightful Bread)
  • 16oz (1lb) Jennie-O Lean Ground Turkey
  • 1 tsp Minced Garlic (Jar) Optional
  • ¼ tsp Sea Salt
  • ½ tsp Pepper
Liquid Mixture
  • 1 Cup Almond Milk (Unsweetened, Unflavored)
  • ½ Cup Low Sodium Chicken Broth
  • ¼ tsp Sea Salt
  • 1 tsp Ground Mustard
  • 150g (3) Whole Eggs
  • 150g Egg Whites (Equivalent to 3 Whole Eggs)
Add-Ins & Topping
  • 140g (1.25 cup) Shredded Fat Free Mozzarella (or Shredded Cheese of Choice)
What You Need
  • Knife or Kitchen Shears
  • Measuring Spoons & Cups
  • Skillet
  • Spatula or Spoon
  • Whisk or Fork
  • 1 Large Bowl
  • 1 Medium Bowl
  • 2qt (or Slightly Larger Casserole Dish)
  • Cookie Sheet & Parchment Paper (Optional)
  • Cooking Spray (Olive Oil or Coconut Oil)
  • Scale

  • (Optional) You can place your bread in the oven for 10mins (on 425) to toast or use a toaster, prior to preparing casserole if you desire a slightly firmer Strata.
  • You can add less or more cheese as you desire in mixture or as topping.
  1. Preheat oven to 425 and prepare casserole dish with cooking spray, set aside.
  2. Prepare vegetables. Chopped Onions, Scallion, Mushrooms and set aside.
  3. Prepare bread, cut into bite size pieces with knife or kitchen shears. Set Aside. **If you would like to toast your bread, do so at this time and used Cookie Sheet with Parchment Paper or Toaster.**
  4. Combine Ingredients for Liquid Mixture.
  5. Place Bread and 112g (1 cup) of Cheese in the large bowl. Pour Liquid Mixture over Bread and Cheese, completely coating the dry mix. Set aside while you prepare Turkey Mixture.
  6. Cook Turkey on Medium-High heat. As Meat browns, add all remaining Turkey Mixture Ingredients.
  7. Continue to stir and combine all ingredients, cook Turkey Mixture until meat is completely done.
  8. Pour Turkey Mixture over Bread and combine thoroughly.
  9. Pour mixture into casserole dish, smooth out and top with remaining cheese.
  10. Baked Uncovered for 35-40 mins..
  11. Remove from oven, allow to set before cutting.
  12. Enjoy!!
